What a record's sync state means

In this article

"Did this actually reach QuickBooks?" is the question people ask most often, and the answer used to mean asking someone in finance. This column answers it on the row itself.

  • Where to find the column, and what its two values mean
  • What the little panel shows when you click one
  • Why the summary line at the top of that panel is often wrong
  • Two things on this screen that do not work yet

01 · Why

Why do we have this?

"Did this actually reach QuickBooks?" is the question people ask most often, and the answer used to mean asking someone in finance. This column answers it on the row itself.

02 · How

Read a record’s sync state

  1. Open a table that shows Connected to Quickbooks (or Xero) next to the record count.
  2. Find the INTEGRATION column, at the right-hand end of the row.
  3. Click the value to open the record's sync history.

03 · Expected result

The column shows one of:

ValueMeaning
LocalThis record exists only in Merchaint. It has never been sent or matched.
SyncedThis record is linked to a record in your accounting system.

Clicking it opens a small panel with a one-line summary, the last few sync events with their times, and a View Full History button.

04 · Notes

View Full History does nothing

We clicked it repeatedly. The panel stays open and nothing else happens. To see a table’s full sync activity, use the Integration Logs tab on the table itself.

Filtering by sync state does not work yet

The Filter panel lists Synced, Local and Archived under Status. All three show a count of 0 even on a table where every row says Local, and choosing Local returns every record rather than filtering. Sort or scan the column by eye for now.

05 · FAQ

Common questions

A record says Local but I know it was sent. Why?

"Local" means Merchaint has no link stored for it. A push that failed never creates that link — so a record that was attempted and rejected still reads Local. See Why a record did not reach your accounting system.

Where is the retry button?

On a record whose last sync failed, the panel offers a retry. We could not find a record in that state to confirm what it looks like.
