Turn QuickBooks pulls off and on

In this article

A quick way to stop data flowing without disconnecting — useful during a month-end close, or while you are fixing a mapping and do not want half-mapped records arriving.

  • Where the switch is, and what the two labels mean
  • That it affects pulls only
  • Why nothing confirms you pressed it
  • Why this is the first thing to check when nothing is syncing

01 · Why

Why do we have this?

It is a quick way to stop data flowing without disconnecting — useful during a month-end close, or while you are fixing a mapping and do not want half-mapped records arriving.

02 · How

Flip the switch

  1. Go to Settings → Integrations.
  2. Find the QuickBooks connection.
  3. Click QBO sync: On to turn it off. Click again to turn it back on.

03 · Expected result

The label changes between QBO sync: On and QBO sync: Off, and the tooltip tells you what that means:

LabelTooltip
QBO sync: OnQuickBooks sync is enabled — click to disable pulls
QBO sync: OffQuickBooks sync is disabled — pulls are skipped until you enable it

04 · Notes

It affects pulls only

Records can still be pushed out while it is off.

There is no confirmation and no message

One click changes it. Nothing warns you, and nothing confirms it afterwards — the label is the only feedback.

Turning it off does not stop schedules from trying

Scheduled pulls still run; they just come back having done nothing.

05 · FAQ

Common questions

Is there one for Xero?

No. This switch only appears on QuickBooks connections.

Why is nothing syncing?

Check this switch first. It is easy to leave off, and nothing else on the page indicates that pulls are being skipped.
