The record page

In this article

Checking a record means comparing it to the document it came from, so the page and the fields sit side by side.

  • Three jobs this page does, and which layout suits each

02 · Why

Why do we have this?

Checking a record means comparing it to the document it came from. Putting the page and the fields side by side means you don't have to open the PDF separately.

Why is it set up this way?

Different jobs want different shapes. Someone checking twenty invoices wants everything visible at once. Someone reading carefully wants fewer columns and bigger text. So the layout is yours to switch.

03 · Use cases

Use case 1
Checking an extracted invoice

Read the fields against the document beside them. Fix anything wrong by clicking it.

Use case 2
Approving something

Check the values, look at Comments for context, then close the record when you're done.

Use case 3
Working out what happened

Logs shows what changed. Automation shows which workflows touched it.

Which layout should I use?

LayoutGood for
Three-columnSeeing everything at once
Two-columnA comfortable middle
ListReading carefully, one field per line
GridModules with lots of short fields

04 · How

Work a record

  1. Click a row in the grid.
  2. Check the fields against the document on the left.
  3. Click any value to change it.
  4. Scroll down for line items.
  5. Close it with the X, or press the lifecycle button to close the record itself.

05 · Expected result

You can see and change everything on the record without leaving the page. Changes save as you make them.
