02 · Why

Why build your own?

Every business names things differently and keeps different information. Rather than give you fixed tables, Merchaint lets you build the ones you need.

The library exists because most people want the same handful — invoices, POs, suppliers — and building those by hand would waste an afternoon.

03 · How

Make a module

  1. Hover Records in the sidebar and click the +. The box is headed "Create New Record". It makes a module, not a record.
  2. Choose how to start. Type a name for an empty one, or press Browse library to pick a ready-made one.
  3. If you use the library, press Preview to see the columns first, then Use This. The name fills in for you — change it if you want.
  4. Press Create Record.

To rename it later, click the title and type. Same for the description under it. To reorder the sidebar, drag a module by its handle.

04 · Expected result

The module appears in the sidebar and opens as an empty grid. If you used a template, the columns are already there.

05 · Troubleshooting / notes

Toast says "Record created"It made a module. The wording is wrong, the result is right.
Fewer columns than the template saidThe counts on the template card and in the module don't always agree.

Common questions

Can I archive a module instead of deleting it?

No. Records can be archived, modules can't. Only delete one when you are sure.

Can I share a module with another workspace?

Not from here. Each workspace has its own modules.

What are Solution packs?

Bundles that set up several related modules at once rather than one at a time.

Does everyone see the same sidebar order?

Yes. The order is a property of the workspace, so dragging changes it for everybody.
