Search, filters and saved views

In this article

A module gets big quickly. Nobody wants to scroll. And most people look for the same few things every day, so it should take one click the second time.

  • A walkthrough video, then how search actually matches
  • The two halves of the filter panel
  • How to save a view, and what it remembers
  • Why the status counts sometimes do not add up

Search

Type in Search records.... It's not case-sensitive and it looks across fields — searching a supplier name will find invoices from that supplier.

The term goes into the page address, so you can copy the link and send someone the same search.

Filter

Filter opens a panel with two parts.

Status comes first — eight states, each showing how many records are in it:

Disregarded · Conflict · Review · Not matched · Matched · Synced · Local · Archived

Tick one to keep only those. Each also has a small exclude button to do the opposite. Below that is a section per field. Text fields get a box. Date fields get FROM and TO.

Saved views

Set up the filters and columns you want, open Views, type a name, press Save. It comes back from that menu whenever you need it.

03 · Expected result

The grid shows only matching records. Saved views reload the same setup later.

05 · FAQ

Common questions

Can other people use my saved views?

Views are saved on the module, so yes.

How do I clear everything?

Empty the search box and untick everything in Filter.

Can I filter on more than one field?

Yes. Sections combine — each one narrows it further.

Why do the status counts sometimes not add up?

A record can be in more than one state — matched and synced at the same time, for instance.
