02 · Why
Why do we have this?
Merchaint is shared. Approvals need somebody to approve, and a comment needs somebody to read it.
03 · How
Send an invitation
- Go to Settings → Members, or press Invite team in the sidebar.
- Press
Invite member. - Enter their email address.
- Choose a Role — Member, Admin or Viewer. Member is the default and suits most people.
- Optionally choose a Department and a Functional Role. Both are labels; neither changes what they can do.
- Press
Send invite.
04 · Expected result
They get an email inviting them to join your organization. Until they accept, they appear on the Members list as pending — the count above the table shows how many are active and how many are still pending.
Once they accept, they can sign in and see the workspaces they have been given.
05 · Troubleshooting
Send invite is greyed out
Enter an email address first — nothing else is required.
They never got the email
Check the spelling, then ask them to look in their spam folder. Invitations come from Merchaint, not from you.
They signed up instead of accepting
They will have created their own separate organization by accident, and will not be in yours. Ask them to use the invitation link, and remove the extra account they made.
I cannot see the Invite member button
You need to be an Admin or the Owner. There is also an organization-wide setting, Allow Member Invitations, which decides whether ordinary Members can invite anybody — see Organization details.
06 · Notes
You are inviting them to the organization, not to a workspace
Giving them something to look at is a second step — see Who can see which workspace.
You cannot invite somebody as Owner
Only Member, Admin and Viewer can be sent.
