02 · Why
Why does it ask for a company name?
Merchaint is shared software: your colleagues will join the same organization and see the same data. So the very first account has to create that organization, which is why the sign-up form asks for a company name as well as your own. See Organizations and workspaces.
03 · How
Sign up
- Go to the Merchaint sign-in page and choose Start free trial.
- Fill in your first and last name.
- Use your work email. This is the address your colleagues will invite and mention, and you cannot change it yourself later.
- Enter your Organization name — your company name. This becomes the organization you own.
- Choose a password. It needs at least 8 characters, with an uppercase letter, a lowercase letter and a number.
- Tick to accept the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
- Press
Start free trial.
You can use Continue with Google instead, which skips the password.
04 · Expected result
You are signed in and taken to a screen asking you to choose an organization and workspace. Yours will have one organization — the one you just named — and you can start straight away.
The trial gives you full access to every feature for 7 days, and lets you process up to 100 documents.
05 · Troubleshooting
Nothing happens when I press the button, and no error appears
Errors only show after you press it, and they appear under each field. Scroll up — the first problem is usually a blank name or the unticked terms box.
It says my email is invalid and it is not
The field wants a full address including the domain.
06 · Notes
No credit card is needed to start
And nothing is charged when the trial ends.
Your organization name can be changed later
In Settings — see Organization details. Your email address cannot; see Your profile.
